The Argentine state oil company YPF said it closed 2024 with solid results. Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before taxes) grew by 15%, totaling $4.654 billion.

The company said in a statement that the improvement was due to the recovery of local fuel prices, increasing oil export revenues, and the expansion of shale oil.

"During 2024, shale production averaged 122,000 barrels per day, a 26% increase compared to the previous year and in line with the stated goal of exceeding 120,000 barrels per day," YPF said. "In the last months of 2024, production reached 138,000 barrels per day," it added.

Investments reached $5.041 billion in 2024, in line with the company's strategic plan objectives, the report stated.

"63.5% (of the investments) were allocated to unconventional resources, mostly in Vaca Muerta," the company explained, adding that "oil exports, mainly to Chile, averaged 35,000 barrels per day in 2024, 174% higher than the previous year."
