A Mapuche group lifted a blockade that had impeded normal access to the Loma 'La Lata' field of state oil company YPF and affected the production of the main operators, a company source told Reuters.**

"The community committed to allowing the safe entry of workers, thereby normalizing gas supply in the coming hours," the source said.

The conflict began this week in the Vaca Muerta area, a formation of unconventional hydrocarbons the size of Belgium located in the province of Neuquén, in protest over the lack of gas supply, the source noted.

The blockade lasted more than 24 hours and put the supply at risk in Buenos Aires and other points of the gas consumption network at a time of high demand due to low temperatures.
