The Argentine oil company YPF announced that its new partnership with three other oil companies has approved the construction of a pipeline for the export of unconventional oil extracted from Vaca Muerta Sur.
The new partnership, VMOS S.A., includes YPF, Vista Energy Argentina S.A.U., Pampa Energía S.A., and Pan American Sur S.A.
According to the statement, the Vaca Muerta Sur pipeline "will span 437 kilometers and will feature a loading and unloading terminal with interconnected monobuoys, as well as a tank yard and storage facilities."
YPF explained that "the project's design capacity will allow for the transport of up to 550,000 barrels per day during commercial operations, with the potential to increase this capacity to 700,000 barrels per day." The project's total cost is estimated to be around 3 billion dollars.
